Charcoal is Divi!ne, Darling

Violet believes we should know what we are putting in and on our bodies. Labels can be misleading. Marketing can make us believe something has super powers or is safer than it actually is. We promise to shed light on those ingredients we know are healthy, effective, and tell you why. We will also expose those that have hidden risks. Violet believes that knowledge is power and that you deserve to become the expert on your body.

Today, the focus is on the charcoal rage for detoxifying. Charcoal is a wonderful cleanser and refresher. Here’s how it works:

The charcoal is “activated” by processing it at very high temperatures. This changes its internal structure, making it more porous. The charcoal’s porous texture has a negative electrical charge, which causes it to attract positively charged molecules, such as toxins and gases (source). It is so good at trapping toxins that it is sometimes used in emergency rooms to treat overdoses.

Please don’t confuse those charcoal chunks you use in your grill with the activated charcoal you can find in toothpastes and skin creams. Activated charcoal used in products to help with cleansing your face, shining your teeth, or even helping with tummy aches isn’t going to help you cook dinner and vice versa! Activated charcoal has some great benefits and ZERO negative effects.

Violet likes charcoal so much that she is putting it into a specialized body powder that absorbs moisture where we really don’t want it to build up: under our boobs and between our cheeks (the other cheeks). Along with other health-supporting natural ingredients, charcoal will help soak up the sweat while eliminating bacteria that can cause odor. Of course, she’s going to do her part to turn 2021 around starting with DiVi!ne, Dry Touch Body Powder! Look for it in February.
